Bathroom Renovation: Smart Storage and a Space to Unwind.

Challenge:

The original bathroom worked, but that’s all it did. It was purely functional, tiled top to bottom in dark mosaic, with no warmth, no depth, and no real storage. The layout made the room feel uninviting, and the new homeowners wanted a space they could actually enjoy spending time in.

Solution:

We stripped the space back to its shell and rebuilt it with a focus on light, flow, and practicality. The layout was reworked to fit a free-standing bath and walk-in shower, while every fixture was chosen to bring a cleaner, more modern feel to the room.

Customization:

-We added recessed storage built into both the bath and shower walls, keeping everything to hand without cluttering the space.
- Integrated LED lighting inside the niches, adding warmth and atmosphere in the evenings.
-Matte black fixtures throughout for a sharp contrast against the soft stone finish.
-Wood-effect tiles in the shower to introduce texture and natural warmth.
-Streamlined sanitaryware to maximise floor space and keep the room feeling open.

Result:

The bathroom went from basic to standout. What was once just a functional room is now spacious and calm. The free-standing bath gives the room a focal point, the shower feels spacious, and the lighting changes the atmosphere completely. It’s now a bathroom that does more than serve a purpose, it’s a space to switch off and recharge.

  • We can’t believe it’s the same bathroom. Before, it was just a functional space we rushed in and out of — now it feels like a little retreat in our own home. The storage keeps everything tidy, the lighting creates such a calm atmosphere, and the finish is exactly what we wanted. The team at Alpha were brilliant start to finish, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.”
